CONDICIONES PERFECTAS PARA EL ARRANQUE DEL ZICATELA PRO 2010. EL MEJOR HEAT DEL DIA LO TUVIERON LA EX CAMPEONA MUNDIAL CLAUDIA FERRARI Y LA BRASILEÑA MAIRA VIANA.
PUERTO ESCONDIDO, OAXACA – (Julio 29 del 2010) – El primer dia de acción comenzó con condiciones de olas increíbles. Olas de 2 - 4 pies con Fuertes vientos de la montaña.
El mejor heat del día los tuvieron la ex campeona mundial Claudia Ferrari y la brasileña Maira Viana de Brasil. El heat comenzó lento por el oleaje pero en cuanto llego el prime set de olas, Maira tomo una ola Buena en donde realizo una maniobra llamada El Rollo, donde se vio con fuerza y decisión. Ferrari respondió con un par de maniobras, pero no fue suficiente dejando la puerta abierta para Maira y así avanzar a la tercera ronda.
La sorpresa la dio la local Sol Fernández eliminando a la Americana Keila Grodzen en el heat 2 de la segunda ronda. Lumar Guitard de Venezuela elimino a Jade Robles de Hawai y en la ultima manga la local Roxel Pérez cayo en los últimos segundos ante la venezolana Ruth Parra.
La división de DropKnee o Hincado, tuvo acción en donde el venezolano David Velazquez logro las mas alta calificación del dia metiéndose a un tubo perfecto con salida dejándolo en la primera posición de su heat. La segunda ronda fue suspendida debido a las condiciones del mar que ya habían cambiado y estarán a la espera de su heat esta tarde a las 4pm, según menciono el Jefe de Jueces de la IBA, Chico Garritano.
La primera ronda de los hombres será mañana por la mañana donde se espera que aumente le tamaño de las olas.

EPIC CONDITIONS FOR THE FIRST DAY OF ACTION OF ZICATELA PRO 2010. HEAT OF THE DAY WAS PERFORMED BY FORMER WORLD CHAMP CLAUDIA FERRARI AND BRAZIL’S STANDOUT MAIRA VIANA.
PUERTO ESCONDIDO, OAXACA – (July 29th, 2010) – First day of action was held in epic conditions. Perfect 2-4 feet barrels and great offshore winds. Once again Puerto Escondido delivers the best waves for all the competitors
The best heat of the day had former world champ Claudia Ferrari and Maira Viana from Brazil. The heat started slowly with a long low, but as soon as the first set came, Maira Viana took the lead with a committed through the lip El Rollo and got a high score. Ferrari answered back with a couple of big El Rollos, but fell short to take 2nd place giving Maira the chance to move to the next round.
The other standout was the local Sol Fernandez defeating Keila Grodzen from USA. Lumar Guitard defeated Jade Robles from Hawaii and Venezuela’s Ruth Parra defeated Roxel Perez from Mexico in the last seconds of their heat.
The DK division had some action as well. The best wave of the day was for fellow Venezuelan bodyboarder David Velasquez taking of late and getting deep in a Puerto barrel and coming out to take one of the highest scores of the day. The second round was about to start, but the wind and the tide changed and the head judge, Chico Garritano decided to stop the comp until 4pm, waiting for the evening offshore Puerto gets some times during this time of the year.
